We Can Meet This Moment — Together

You have been part of Food Recovery Network’s mission because you believe everyone deserves access to nourishing food, because you care about our environment, and because you know, for nearly 15 years, FRN has been strategically finding ways to feed more people while ending food waste.

We need your help, now more than ever, to meet our mission.

Families are facing rising costs everywhere they turn, at the gas pump, grocery counter*, and utilities bills; life necessities cost more. At the same time, low-income families are seeing reductions in their SNAP and WIC benefits. This is hard for many of our neighbors - it's affecting everyone. Families who once had their needs met are increasingly living on the edge.

And we are hearing from our students that their communities are hungry and are increasingly relying on their food recoveries, like our leaders at Louisiana State University:

We were filling up one of the community fridges in Baton Rouge, just like we do every single Friday, but this time was different. There were several cars waiting by the refrigerator waiting for us. They were relying on us, and we could feel it. As we were finishing up, an older lady got out of her car and started walking to the fridge. She said, ‘Because of you all, we eat.’ We are providing people with food who would otherwise go without. Life can be hard, and it is very moving to realize that you are in a position where you can save someone’s life.

FRN is responding every day by moving food to people who need it most — faster and more efficiently than ever.

  • Our produce markets are a replicable model for getting nourishing food to elementary school students and families experiencing food insecurity.

  • Our student chapters are making significant impacts in their local communities.

  • Our community college cohort members are recovering food in new places and in new ways.

But the costs of transportation, food recovery, staffing, and operations have all increased substantially. We need your support to meet this moment. Your gift today will directly help us feed more people, faster, more efficiently.

No gift is too small.

Thank you for your attention to our call for urgency.

A really big solution to a really big problem for nearly 15 years.
