In the news: Food Recovery Network featured in The Baltimore Times: Students Mark Earth Day by Delivering 10,000 Pounds of Fresh Food to Baltimore Families

Every student on a college campus holds power. Earth Day events are an excellent showcase of highlighting student power. The one consistent thing about college campuses is that students are always changing, but are always supported in their efforts on campus, even when the administration doesn't agree with change. Sustainability goes beyond recycling, using less water, and everyday actions you can take to save resources. It’s about asking questions and changing how your community thinks about waste as a whole.

“First funded in FY 2021, the Basic Needs Grant is vital to addressing the nationwide crisis of basic needs insecurity, and has helped colleges and universities in 22 states and Puerto Rico build and expand holistic, comprehensive supports that address food and housing insecurity, mental and physical healthcare challenges, transportation, technology, child care, and other costs that often derail students from completing their degree. The coalition urges Congress to increase these critical investments in student well-being and success.” The Hope Center for Student Basic Needs
