We are hearing from our students that their communities are hungry and are increasingly relying on their food recoveries, like our leaders at Louisiana State University:
“We were filling up one of the community fridges in Baton Rouge, just like we do every single Friday, but this time was different. There were several cars waiting by the refrigerator waiting for us. They were relying on us, and we could feel it. As we were finishing up, an older lady got out of her car and started walking to the fridge. She said, ‘Because of you all, we eat.’ We are providing people with food who would otherwise go without. Life can be hard, and it is very moving to realize that you are in a position where you can save someone's life.”
FRN is responding every day by moving food to people who need it most — faster and more efficiently than ever.
But the costs of transportation, food recovery, staffing, and operations have all increased substantially. We need your support to meet this moment. Your gift today will directly help us feed more people, faster, more efficiently.
Tomorrow is a BIG DUE DATE, Friday at FRN. Here is our running list. All links included.
